AN ACT Relating to generating cost savings to the state by 1
repealing annual reports and an advisory committee; creating a new 2
section; and repealing RCW 43.71C.100, 70.330.020, and 71.24.546.3

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. The legislature finds that:5
(1) The state is facing a substantial budget challenge, and all 6
efforts must be made to identify and attain cost savings. Both the 7
legislature and governor have sought strategies to achieve budget 8
reductions. 9
(2) Furthermore, the governor instructed state agencies to 10
identify additional savings to streamline program effectiveness by 11
reducing administration and overhead, including identifying savings 12
related to reports and advisory committees. 13
(3) Therefore, it is the intent of this act to prioritize limited 14
state dollars and achieve savings by repealing certain legislative 15
reports and an advisory committee that have substantially fulfilled 16
their original mission or are duplicative of work done elsewhere. The 17
legislature intends to deliver cost savings by repealing legislative 18
reports and advisory committees that are either duplicative of work 19
done by other agencies, committees, and working groups or, in the 20
case of reports, either represent substantial work and overhead by 21
