AN ACT Relating to updating the arbitration fee collected for the 1
new motor vehicle arbitration account; and amending RCW 19.118.110.2
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:3
Sec. 1. RCW 19.118.110 and 2017 3rd sp.s. c 1 s 951 are each 4
amended to read as follows: 5
If the new motor vehicle will be registered in the state of 6
Washington, a ((three)) six-dollar arbitration fee shall be collected 7
by either the new motor vehicle dealer or vehicle lessor from the 8
consumer upon execution of a retail sale or lease agreement. The fee 9
shall be forwarded to the department of licensing at the time of 10
title application for deposit in the new motor vehicle arbitration 11
account hereby created in the state treasury. Moneys in the account 12
shall be used for the purposes of this chapter, subject to 13
appropriation. ((During the 1995-97 fiscal biennium, the legislature 14
may transfer moneys from the account to the extent that the moneys 15
are not necessary for the purposes of this chapter.))16
At the end of each fiscal year, the attorney general shall 17
prepare a report listing the annual revenue generated and the 18
expenses incurred in implementing and operating the arbitration 19
program under this chapter. 20
