AN ACT Relating to expanding the income eligibility for the 1
medical assistance program; and creating a new section.2
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:3
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. By July 1, 2027, the health care authority 4
shall develop and submit a state plan amendment to the federal 5
centers for medicare and medicaid services to allow for individuals 6
who have countable income equal to or below 300 percent of the 7
federal poverty level as adjusted for family size and determined 8
annually by the federal department of health and human services to be 9
eligible for enrollment under the medical assistance program under 10
chapter 74.09 RCW.11
