AN ACT Relating to endometriosis; creating new sections; and 1
providing expiration dates. 2
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:3
NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. (1) By July 1, 2028, the University of 4
Washington, in collaboration with Washington State University and 5
other relevant stakeholders including individuals with direct lived 6
experience with endometriosis, shall identify and make available 7
materials and resources regarding endometriosis including information 8
related to the awareness, incidence, and prevalence of endometriosis. 9
This online resource center shall include, but is not limited to, 10
best practices and evidence-based information for:11
(a) Detecting and diagnosing endometriosis; 12
(b) Providing care for individuals with endometriosis;13
(c) Communicating with patients about endometriosis for health 14
care professionals, health care-related organizations, and health 15
systems; and 16
(d) Other related topics determined by the University of 17
Washington and Washington State University. 18
(2) The department of health, or an entity contracted by the 19
department of health, shall create health training modules on 20
endometriosis based on the best practices and information available 21

section. By July 1, 2030, the department of health shall have the 2
developed training modules available for health care providers to 3
complete. The department of health shall ensure that there are 4
specific training modules for health care providers providing primary 5
care services. 6
(3) This section expires December 31, 2031. 7
NEW SECTION. Sec. 2. (1) The office of the superintendent of 8
public instruction shall incorporate information related to menstrual 9
health, including differentiating between typical menstrual 10
discomfort and severe symptoms that may require additional medical 11
attention such as endometriosis, when revising the health and 12
physical education state learning standards under RCW 28A.655.070.13
(2) This section expires June 30, 2029. 14
