WHEREAS, It is of paramount importance to establish cutoff dates 1
for the consideration of legislation during the 2026 Regular Session 2
of the Sixty-Ninth Legislature; 3
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Senate of the State of 4
Washington, the House of Representatives concurring, That the 5
following cutoff dates apply to all bills, memorials, and joint 6
resolutions with the exception of budgets, matters necessary to 7
implement budgets, matters that affect state revenue, initiatives to 8
the legislature, and alternatives to initiatives to the legislature:9
(1) Wednesday, February 4, 2026, the 24th day, will be the final 10
day to read in committee reports in the house of origin, with the 11
exception of reports from the Senate Ways and Means, Senate 12
Transportation, and House of Representatives fiscal committees;13
(2) Monday, February 9, 2026, the 29th day, will be the final day 14
to read in Senate Ways and Means, Senate Transportation, and House of 15
Representatives fiscal committee reports in the house of origin;16
(3) Tuesday, February 17, 2026, the 37th day, at 5:00 p.m., will 17
be the final time to consider bills in their house of origin;18
(4) Wednesday, February 25, 2026, the 45th day, will be the final 19
day to read in committee reports on bills from the opposite house 20
with the exception of reports from the Senate Ways and Means, Senate 21
Transportation, and House of Representatives fiscal committees;22

(5) Monday, March 2, 2026, the 50th day, will be the final day to 1
read in Senate Ways and Means, Senate Transportation, and House of 2
Representatives fiscal committee reports on bills from the opposite 3
house; and 4
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That after 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 5
2026, the 54th day, neither house may consider any bills, memorials, 6
or joint resolutions except initiatives to the legislature and 7
alternatives to such initiatives, budgets and matters necessary to 8
implement budgets, matters that affect state revenue, messages 9
pertaining to amendments, matters of differences between the two 10
houses, and matters incident to the interim and to the closing of the 11
business of the 2026 Regular Session of the Legislature.12
