WHEREAS, Young people across Washington state represent the 1
future of our communities, bringing creativity, resilience, and 2
leadership to every corner of the state; and 3
WHEREAS, Students participating in the Boundless Washington, 4
Compassion Scholars, Legislative Youth Advisory Council (LYAC), SAM 5
sports mentoring program, and Washington World Fellows programs 6
administered by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor and the 7
Washington State Leadership Board have demonstrated exceptional 8
dedication to personal growth, leadership development, civic 9
engagement, and community service; and 10
WHEREAS, The achievements of these young leaders exemplify the 11
power of investing in education, leadership training, and inclusive 12
opportunities, inspiring their peers and uplifting communities 13
statewide and beyond; and 14
WHEREAS, 2025 marks the 20th Anniversary of LYAC, a program that 15
has empowered students to engage directly with the legislative 16
process, amplify the voices of their peers, and advocate for policies 17
that improve the lives of young people across Washington; and18
WHEREAS, Through their hard work, determination, and commitment 19
to making a difference, these students embody the values of service, 20
leadership, and perseverance, setting an example for generations to 21
come; 22

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State 1
of Washington honor and celebrate the students who have 2
participated in the Legislative Youth Advisory Council and the 3
Washington State Leadership Board programs for their 4
extraordinary contributions, leadership, and dedication to 5
shaping a brighter future for Washington state and beyond.6
