WHEREAS, Children are the foundation of our communities and the 1
promise of Washington state's future, bringing curiosity, energy, and 2
fresh perspectives that inspire and strengthen our democracy; and3
WHEREAS, Civic engagement is fundamental to a thriving democracy, 4
and we commend the young leaders who have demonstrated not only 5
enthusiasm to learn but also the courage to ask questions, share 6
ideas, and participate in civic life, fostering a culture of active 7
citizenship that will strengthen our state for generations to come; 8
and 9
WHEREAS, Good governance depends on the curiosity, creativity, 10
and insight of our youth, and nurturing these qualities ensures that 11
Washington will continue to benefit from innovative solutions, fresh 12
perspectives, and the bold ideas of a generation willing to tackle 13
complex problems with integrity, compassion, and resilience; and14
WHEREAS, Children provide not only a window into our future but 15
also a mirror reflecting our past and the lessons we have learned 16
along the way, reminding us of the values that define our 17
communities, the diversity that strengthens our society, and the 18
hope, optimism, and courage that inspire all who call Washington 19
home; and 20
WHEREAS, The Senate acknowledges that pathways to opportunity, 21
learning, and success for every child in our state, regardless of 22
race, religion, creed, income, or background ensures their success 23

and fosters an environment where all children feel valued, 1
respected, and empowered to reach their full potential; and2
WHEREAS, Adults bear the responsibility to instill in this 3
next generation empathy, compassion, and a sense of social 4
responsibility, encouraging them to care for one another, 5
embrace diversity, and work collectively toward a society that 6
is inclusive, just, and welcoming to every Washingtonian; and7
WHEREAS, The Senate recognizes that investing in children is 8
an investment in the long-term health, prosperity, and vibrancy 9
of our communities, and that every opportunity to educate, 10
support, and uplift our youth strengthens the foundation of our 11
democracy and ensures a brighter future for all; and12
WHEREAS, We are honored to witness the next generation of 13
leaders take their first steps into public life, confident that 14
these children have the support, encouragement, and faith of 15
this legislative body as they begin to navigate the complex 16
challenges ahead, discover their voices, develop their talents, 17
and learn the power of thoughtful, engaged, and informed 18
participation in shaping the world around them; 19
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Senate celebrate 20
all children, recognize their curiosity, courage, and potential, 21
and be inspired by the engagement, creativity, and contributions 22
they have shown and will continue to show in the years ahead; 23
and 24
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Senate celebrate children 25
on Children's Day and throughout the year by honoring their 26
special place in our lives, nurturing their growth, and working 27
together daily to strengthen the foundation of our communities 28
and our state for generations to come. 29
