WHEREAS, The 2026 Regular Session of the Sixty-ninth Legislature 1
is drawing to a close; and 2
WHEREAS, It is necessary to provide for the completion of the 3
work of the Senate after its adjournment and during the interim 4
period between the close of the 2026 Regular Session of the Sixty-5
ninth Legislature and the convening of the next regular session;6
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Senate Facilities and 7
Operations Committee shall have full authority and direction over the 8
authorization and execution of any contracts or subcontracts that 9
necessitate the expenditure of Senate appropriations and may further 10
delegate such authority and direction to the Secretary of the Senate 11
for contracts that are routine or expected, subject to all applicable 12
budget controls and limitations; and 13
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Secretary of the Senate may, as 14
she deems appropriate, authorize travel for which members and staff 15
may receive their actual necessary expenses, and such per diem as may 16
be authorized by law, subject to all applicable budget controls and 17
limitations, to be paid upon receipt of their vouchers out of funds 18
appropriated for legislative expenses; and 19
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Secretary of the Senate be, and 20
hereby is, authorized to retain such employees as she may deem 21
necessary and that said employees be allowed such rate of pay, 22

subject to all applicable budget controls and limitations, as 1
the Secretary of the Senate shall deem proper; and 2
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Secretary of the Senate be, 3
and hereby is, authorized and directed to make out and execute 4
the necessary vouchers upon which warrants for legislative 5
expenses and expenditures shall be drawn from funds provided 6
therefor; and 7
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Secretary of the Senate, in 8
consultation with the Chair and Ranking Member of the Facilities 9
and Operations Committee, be, and hereby is, authorized to 10
approve written requests by standing committees to meet during 11
the interim period; and 12
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Secretary of the Senate be, 13
and hereby is, authorized and directed to have printed a copy of 14
the Senate Journals of the 2026 Regular Session of the Sixty-15
ninth Legislature; and 16
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Majority Leader is 17
authorized to create special committees as may be necessary to 18
carry out the functions of the Senate in an orderly manner and 19
appoint members thereto with the approval of the Facilities and 20
Operations Committee; and 21
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the use of Senate facilities is 22
permitted upon such terms as the Secretary of the Senate shall 23
deem proper. 24
