An Act
relating to:
a Medical Assistance coordination working group.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill requires the Department of Health Services to convene a working group on statewide coordination of the Medical Assistance program and improving MA recipients’ experience with the MA program in light of changes to MA following the passage of Public Law 119-21. The working group must include one representative each from DHS, an aging and disability resource center, and a multicounty consortium or tribal governing body that administers income maintenance programs; one member of the assembly or senate; one health care provider; and one MA recipient. The working group may also include any other person DHS deems necessary. The working group must report its findings and recommendations to DHS and the legislature within six months after the working group first convenes.

Medical Assistance coordination working group.
As soon as

practicable and by no later than June 1, 2026, or the first day of the 2nd month
2
beginning after the effective date of this subsection, whichever occurs later, the
3
department of health services shall convene a working group to address statewide
4
coordination of the Medical Assistance program and improving Medical Assistance
5
recipients’ experience with the Medical Assistance program in light of the changes
6
to the Medical Assistance program under P.L.
119-2
1. By no later than the first day
7
of the 7th month after the working group first convenes, the working group shall
8
submit to the department of health services and the appropriate standing
9
committees of the legislature under s. 13.172 (3) a report on its findings and
10
recommendations. The working group shall consist of any person the department
11
of health services deems necessary and at least one of each of the following:

A representative of a resource center, as defined in s. 46.2805 (10).

A representative of a multicounty consortium, as defined in s. 49.78 (1)
