An Act

to create
20.437 (1) (bw) and 48.549 of the statutes;
relating to:

automated external defibrillators in child care centers and making an

appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill directs the Department of Children and Families to award grants to licensed child care centers to provide automated external defibrillators and automated external defibrillator maintenance in the child care center. To be eligible for a grant under the bill, a licensed child care center must provide matching funds equal to at least 33 percent of the total grant amount. DCF must award grants in each child care licensing region designated by the Bureau of Early Care Regulation within DCF.
For further information see the state fiscal estimate, which will be printed as an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

From the appropriation under s. 20.437 (1) (bw), the department shall award

grants to child care centers licensed under s. 48.65 to provide automated external

defibrillators and automated external defibrillator maintenance in the child care

center.
