An Act

relating to:
funding for reimbursements to municipalities for required

office hours for in-person absentee voting and making an appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill provides funding of up to $10,000,000 to reimburse municipalities for a certain number of hours the municipal clerk’s office or alternate absentee ballot site may be required by law to remain open for in-person absentee voting at the election held on the first Tuesday in April each year or the November general election.
For further information see the state fiscal estimate, which will be printed as an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

Municipality reimbursements for in-person absentee voting office

hours.
In the schedule under s. 20.005 (3) for the appropriation to the joint

committee on finance under s. 20.865 (4) (a), the dollar amount for fiscal year 2025-
1
26 is increased by $10,000,000 for the department of administration to pay
2
reimbursements to municipalities at a rate provided by law for a certain number of
3
hours the municipality’s municipal clerk’s office or alternate site under s. 6.855 is
4
required by law to remain open for in-person absentee voting at a spring election, as
5
defined in s. 5.02 (21) or a general election, as defined in s. 5.02 (5).
