An Act

relating to:
a study of redundancies in legal requirements for new

housing construction.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill requires the Department of Administration to conduct a study of redundancies among federal, state, and local requirements for the construction of new housing, including one-family and two-family dwellings and multifamily housing. The bill requires DOA to submit a report to the legislature no later than one year after the effective date of the bill regarding the results of the study and legislative recommendations for remedying redundancies.
For further information see the state fiscal estimate, which will be printed as an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

. Nonstatutory provisions.

Study on housing law redundancies.
The department of

administration shall conduct a study of redundancies among federal, state, and

local requirements for the construction of new housing, including one-family and
2
two-family dwellings and multifamily housing. No later than one year after the
3
effective date of this subsection, the department shall complete the study and
4
submit a report to the appropriate standing committees of the legislature, in the
5
manner provided under s. 13.172 (3), regarding the results of the study and
6
legislative recommendations for remedying redundancies.
