An Act
to create
20.435 (1) (fo) and 146.621 of the statutes;
relating to:
grants

to match county investments in the health care, public health, and care
3
provider workforce and making an appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill requires the Department of Health Services to award grants to each county to match any investments made by the county in the previous fiscal year in the recruitment, retention, mental health, trauma care and prevention, or wellness of the county’s health care, public health, child care, long-term care, and other care provider workforce. Under the bill, grants may not exceed an amount equal to $1.11 multiplied by the county’s population.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

counties for workforce investment under s. 146.621.

Each fiscal year, the department

shall provide grants to each county to match any investments made by the county in
6
the previous fiscal year in the recruitment, retention, mental health, trauma care
7
and prevention, or wellness of the county’s health care, public health, child care,
8
long-term care, and other care provider workforce. No grant awarded to a county
9
under this section in any fiscal year may exceed an amount equal to $1.11
10
multiplied by the total number of persons residing in the county, as last determined
11
by the department of administration under s. 16.96.
