An Act
to create
20.435 (5) (eh) of the statutes;
relating to:
children’s mental

health treatment grants and making an appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill requires the Department of Health Services to award grants of up to $50,000 to cities, villages, towns, counties, and nonprofit organizations to increase children’s access to research-based mental health treatments other than medication or talk therapy. The bill appropriates $2,000,000 for the grants. The grant program ends two years after the effective date of the bill.
For further information see the state and local fiscal estimate, which will be printed as an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

A city, village, town, county, or nonprofit organization may apply to the

department of health services for a grant under par. (

).

From the appropriation under s. 20.435 (5) (eh), the department of health

services shall award grants, in an amount not to exceed $50,000 per grant, to
16
applicants to increase access for children to research-based mental health
17
treatments that are alternatives to medication or talk therapy.
