An Act

to create
20.155 (3) (d) and 196.93 of the statutes;
relating to:

communication facility relocation reimbursements and making an

appropriation.

This bill requires the Public Service Commission to reimburse communications service providers that are required by a state agency, city, village, town, or county to relocate communications service facilities located within a public right-of-way for costs associated with relocating the facilities.
For further information see the state fiscal estimate, which will be printed as an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

In this section:

(a) “Communications service facility” means a facility installed by a

communications service provider.

(b) “Communications service provider” means a cable service provider, video

service provider, telecommunications carrier, telecommunications utility, or

Internet service provider that provides Internet service that is described in s.

196.504 (1) (c) 1. and 2.

The commission shall reimburse communications service providers that

are required by an agency, as defined in s. 13.172 (1), city, village, town, or county to

relocate communications service facilities located within a public right-of-way for

the costs associated with relocating the facilities.

Relocation reimbursements; onetime funding.
Notwithstanding s.

16.42 (1) (e), in submitting information under s. 16.42 for purposes of the 2027-29

biennial budget bill, the public service commission shall submit information

concerning the appropriation under s. 20.155 (3) (d) as though the total amount
2
appropriated under s. 20.155 (3) (d) for the 2026-27 fiscal year was zero.
