Whereas, Cybersecurity Awareness Month has been observed annually in the

United States of America since 2003; and

Whereas, technology usage has grown to be an integral part of the personal,

professional, and educational lives of Wisconsinites; and

Whereas, the growth of technology use has led to a rise of phishing scams,

identity theft, and fraud; and

Whereas, victimization from internet scams may lead to data breaches,

financial losses, and personal damage; and

Whereas, one of the most effective safeguards against technology attacks is an

informed user; and

Whereas, the Legislative Technology Service Bureau works diligently to

protect the Wisconsin State Legislature from cybersecurity threats; now, therefore,
