section 1m of article I of the constitution;
relating to:
the right to

privacy (first consideration).

This constitutional amendment, proposed to the 2025 legislature on first consideration, provides that the people have an individual and fundamental right to privacy.
A constitutional amendment requires adoption by two successive legislatures and ratification by the people before it can become effective.

Section 1m of article I of the constitution is created to read:

[Article I] Section 1m. As a necessary part of a free society, the people have an

individual and fundamental right to privacy.

. Numbering of new provisions.
If another constitutional

amendment ratified by the people creates the number of any provision created in
1
this joint resolution, the chief of the legislative reference bureau shall determine
2
the sequencing and the numbering of the provisions whose numbers conflict.

Be it further resolved, That
this proposed amendment be referred to the

legislature to be chosen at the next general election and that it be published for
5
three months previous to the time of holding such election.
