designating the month of February 2026 as Career and Technical

Education Month in Wisconsin.

Whereas, those looking for a career need to have access to the skills and
4
training that they need to continue their careers in Wisconsin; and

Whereas, Career and Technical Education Month educates students about
6
open options as well as allows them to engage with career exploration tools to
7
develop career skills, interests, and talents in order to prepare them prior to
8
graduation, not after; and

Whereas, technical college education provides industry-recognized credentials
10
as well as wages within the related field; and

Whereas, 92 percent of 2024 Wisconsin Technical College System graduates
12
are employed within six months of graduation, and 93 percent continue to work in

the state; and

Whereas, the median salary for 2024 Wisconsin Technical College System

graduates six months after graduation was $55,636, while the median salary for
2
those who earned an associate degree was $60,003; and

Whereas, career and technical education is essential in helping those looking

for a career to not only explore a career but also gain the skills and training that
5
they need to procure and preserve their career in Wisconsin; now, therefore, be it

concurring, That
the Wisconsin
7
Legislature recognizes the month of February 2026 as Career and Technical
8
Education Month in Wisconsin to advocate for the advantages of career and
9
technical education programs throughout the state and to encourage everyone to
10
become acquainted with these advantages.
