Whereas, the State of Wisconsin recognizes that our children are our greatest

resource; and

Whereas, our children need emotional and parental support from both parents

to be as successful as possible; and

Whereas, separated parents who choose to share parenting duties

significantly decrease the chances of undesirable youth troubles and struggles; and

Whereas, shared parenting is shown to have a significantly positive effect on

children’s well-being; and

Whereas, Wisconsin is currently one of the leading states in shared parenting

outcomes for children with separated parents; and

Whereas, increasing public awareness of the importance of providing children

with the parental support they need from both parents benefits Wisconsin’s

children, their parents, and all of Wisconsin’s citizens; now, therefore, be it
