child care subsidies for custodial parents who are child care

employees and making an appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill extends Wisconsin Shares child care subsidy eligibility to custodial parents who are employees of a child care provider.
Under current law, the Wisconsin Shares program provides child care subsidies as part of Wisconsin Works (W-2), which provides work experience and benefits for low-income custodial parents and is administered by the Department of Children and Families. Under this bill, if a custodial parent meets all other requirements established in law and is an employee of a child care provider, the custodial parent may be eligible for the child care subsidy even if the custodial parent does not meet the income restrictions. The bill creates a sum sufficient GPR appropriation for the purpose of paying child care subsidies to custodial parents who are employees of a child care provider and who do not meet all of the income restrictions.

members of a particular Indian tribal unit for child care subsidies under this
11
section. Under this section, and subject to

under sub. (1m) (a), (b), (bm), (br), and (d) and is an employee of a child care

provider.

In the schedule under s. 20.005 (3) for the appropriation to the department
