An Act
to amend
119.04 (1);
to create
120.12 (30) of the statutes;
relating to:

paid preparation time for teachers.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill requires each school board to ensure that a teacher’s daily schedule includes self-directed preparation time of at least 45 minutes or the equivalent of one class period, whichever is greater.

) This act first applies to a teacher who is affected by a collective bargaining

agreement or other contract that contains provisions inconsistent with this act on

the day on which the collective bargaining agreement or contract expires or is

extended, modified, or renewed, whichever occurs first.
