to amend
255.15 (4);
to create
255.15 (3) (d) of the statutes;
relating

a public health campaign for prevention of tobacco and electronic cigarette

use, grants to organizations working on youth vaping and cessation services,

and making an appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill provides funding to the Department of Health Services to develop and carry out a public health campaign aimed at the prevention of initiation of tobacco and electronic cigarette use. The bill also provides funding to DHS to distribute grants to local and regional organizations working on youth vaping and providing cessation services.
For further information see the state fiscal estimate, which will be printed as an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

(d) From the appropriation under s. 20.435 (1) (fm), the

department may develop and implement a public health campaign aimed at the

prevention of initiation of tobacco and electronic cigarette use and may award

grants for local and regional organizations working on youth vaping and providing

In the schedule under s. 20.005 (3) for the appropriation to the

department of health services under s. 20.435 (1) (fm), the dollar amount for fiscal

year 2026-27 is increased by $2,000,000 to fund a public health campaign aimed at
18
the prevention of initiation of tobacco and electronic cigarette use and for grants for
19
local and regional organizations working on youth vaping and providing cessation
20
services.
