An Act
to create
16.037 and 20.505 (1) (cp) of the statutes;
relating to:

leadership in energy and environmental design certification grant program

and making an appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill requires the Department of Administration to establish and administer a program under which DOA awards grants to municipalities and community organizations to assist municipalities and community organizations in obtaining Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification of municipal and community buildings. LEED is a worldwide green building rating system. LEED certifications are issued by the Green Building Certification Institute.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

(1)
Definition.
In this section, “municipality” means a city,

village, or town.

Grant program.
The department shall establish and administer a grant

program under which the department shall award grants to municipalities and
5
community organizations in this state for the purpose of assisting municipalities
6
and community organizations to obtain from the Green Building Certification
7
Institute leadership in energy and environmental design certifications for

municipal and community buildings.
