Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Current law specifies educational goals and expectations for school boards in each of the following categories: academic skills and knowledge, vocational skills, citizenship, and personal development. To satisfy the personal development educational goals, each school board must provide an instructional program on personal development that incudes specific objectives, including providing pupils with awareness about drug abuse and prevention. Under this bill, the personal development instructional program must also provide pupils with awareness about fentanyl and the use of an opioid antagonist.
