An Act

to create
27.01 (9) (b) of the statutes;
relating to:
waiver of fees for

admission to state parks on Earth Day.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, vehicles entering state parks are required to display an annual or daily admission receipt, for which the Department of Natural Resources charges a fee. Under current law, DNR may waive these admission fees under certain circumstances. This bill requires DNR to waive any daily fee for admission to a state park on April 22 of each year in commemoration of Earth Day and its founder, Gaylord Nelson.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

Earth Day fee waiver.
The department shall waive any daily fee

for admission to a state park imposed under sub. (7) or (8), including any issuing fee,

on April 22 of each year in commemoration of Earth Day and its founder, Gaylord

Nelson.
