An Act

to create
944.30 (3) of the statutes;
relating to:
use of certain

statements as evidence in prosecution for prostitution.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill provides that if a person contacts law enforcement or certain emergency medical services in order to report a crime other than prostitution or seek medical care for themselves or on behalf of another person, any statements or other evidence relating to the crime of prostitution that are obtained as a result of the person seeking the medical care or making the criminal report may not be used to prosecute that person or another person for prostitution or attempted prostitution.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

(a) If a person summons and makes contact with a law enforcement

officer, ambulance, emergency medical services practitioner, as defined in s. 256.01
6
(5), or other health care provider, in order to report any crime other than

prostitution or to seek medical care, any statements or other evidence relating to
2
the crime of prostitution that are obtained as a result of the person seeking the
3
medical care or making the criminal report may not be used in the prosecution of
4
the person for prostitution or attempted prostitution under this section.
