An Act
relating to:
marking the Mississippi River Trail.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under this bill, when the Department of Transportation determines that each municipality located on the route of the Great River Road has approved a resolution expressing support for the Mississippi River Trail and identifying and confirming a route for the trail, DOT must notify the Legislative Reference Bureau. LRB must then publish a notice in the administrative register that specifies that date. No later than 18 months after that date, DOT must procure and erect signs marking the Mississippi River Trail. DOT may submit a request to the joint committee on finance to supplement a DOT appropriation for the procurement and erection of the signs without JCF finding that an emergency exists.
For further information see the state fiscal estimate, which will be printed as an appendix to this bill.
