Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, the Department of Natural Resources issues hunting, fishing, and trapping licenses, permits, and other approvals and charges a fee to issue most approvals. This bill increases nonresident hunting, fishing, and trapping approval fees, of which the following is a sample:
-
See PDF for table

The bill also provides that DNR must charge at least a $19.85 fee for a daily nonresident vehicle admission receipt. Under current law, a vehicle admission receipt is required for a person to operate a vehicle in a vehicle admission area, which includes any state park and certain other state recreational areas and natural areas. Current law requires DNR to charge a fee for a nonresident vehicle admission receipt but does not specify an amount.
For further information see the state fiscal estimate, which will be printed as an appendix to this bill.
