SB823,1,2
1
An Act
to amend
93.425 (3) of the statutes;
relating to:
spending cap for the
2
Wisconsin agricultural exports program and making an appropriation.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Under current law, the Center for International Agribusiness Marketing, operated by the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, promotes the export of Wisconsin agricultural and agribusiness products in foreign markets. This bill eliminates a spending cap under current law that provides that the center may not expend more than $1,000,000 in any fiscal year. The bill increases the amount appropriated for this purpose to $2,073,400 in fiscal year 2025-26 and $2,097,900 in fiscal year 2026-27. The bill also increases the FTE positions for DATCP by 1.0 GPR position for the purpose of program administration for DATCP’s Center for International Agribusiness Marketing.
For further information see the state fiscal estimate, which will be printed as an appendix to this bill.
