Whereas, Celebrate Bisexuality Day, which occurs annually on September 23,

is a day to celebrate the resiliency of the bisexual community, as well as to bring

respect, visibility, awareness, and education about all who identify as bisexual; and

Whereas, bisexuals represent more than 50 percent of the LGBTQ+

community; and

Whereas, San Francisco, California, became the first city in the United States

to officially proclaim a day recognizing bisexuals on June 23, 1990; and

Whereas, September 23 was first observed as Celebrate Bisexuality Day in

1999, and September 23, 2025, marks 27 years of recognizing the bisexual

community on this day; and

Whereas, September 23 is designated as Celebrate Bisexuality Day across the

United States and internationally, including under other names such as Bi

Visibility Day and Bi Pride Day; and

Whereas, despite significant barriers, bisexual individuals demonstrate

considerable resilience and have created organizations, initiatives, and movements

that empower bisexual individuals and support the LGBTQ+ community at large;

community that is visible, vibrant, and healthy; and

Whereas, the members of the Wisconsin Legislature are committed to
