Relating to:
congratulating the Grafton Black Hawks football team for winning
2
the 2025 Wisconsin State Football Championship.

Whereas, the Grafton Black Hawks football team has exemplified the highest
4
levels of dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the 2025 season,
5
finishing with a perfect 14-0 record, earning a place in the WIAA Division 3 State
6
Football Championship Game, and receiving numerous individual honors,
7
including 21 players recognized as Woodland All-Conference, seven players named
8
All-Region, and two players named All-State; and

Whereas, the Black Hawks played hard to an unforgettable victory in the
10
State Championship Game at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison on November 21,
11
2025, where the team triumphed 17-15 after a hard-fought battle and a game-
12
winning field goal; and

Whereas, Head Coach Jim Norris’s leadership has been instrumental in
14
building a program that emphasizes hard work, discipline, and a relentless
1
commitment to excellence—values that have been crucial to the team’s success and
2
that have earned Coach Norris the honor of being named the Wisconsin Football
3
Coaches Association (WFCA)/Green Bay Packers High School Coach of the Year;
4
and

Whereas, Coach Norris and his assistant coaching staff, Eric Graf, Noah Cook,
6
Josh Mack, Eric Pfleger, Luke Menzel, Zach Stelter, Carter Grant, Russell Cross,
7
Jace Gwynn, Mike Seefeld, and DJ Hilgart, have overseen a program of 94 players,
8
including 65 players suiting up for varsity games, helping to develop young athletes
9
and instill in them the values of teamwork and perseverance; and

Whereas, the 2025 Black Hawks’ remarkable season and championship win
11
have brought immense pride to the Grafton community—uniting families,
12
students, and fans in support of the team’s success; and

Whereas, the victory serves as a testament to the dedication and resilience of

the players, coaches, and the entire Grafton community, showing that success is
15
achieved through hard work, unity, and unwavering determination; now, therefore,

the Wisconsin Legislature congratulate the Grafton Black Hawks football team for

their outstanding achievement of winning the 2025 Wisconsin State Football
