Relating to:
congratulating the St. Joseph Catholic Academy Lancers football

team on winning the 2025 WIAA Division 7 State Football Championship.

Whereas, on November 20, 2025, the St. Joseph Catholic Academy Lancers of
4
Kenosha captured their first WIAA state football title with a decisive 35–19 victory
5
over Cochrane-Fountain City at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison; and

Whereas, the Lancers completed a perfect 14–0 season and set the tone early
7
in the championship game by scoring 28 points in the first half, ultimately finishing
8
the game with 377 total yards of offense; and

Whereas, the team’s success reflects the strong leadership and vision of Head
10
Coach Matt Rizzo, whose guidance, preparation, and commitment to his athletes
11
played a central role in the Lancers’ historic championship run; and

Whereas, quarterback Zach Rizzo, the Wisconsin Football Coaches
13
Association’s Offensive Player of the Year for Small Schools, delivered a record-
1
setting performance by completing 15 of 18 passes for 226 yards and three
2
touchdowns, establishing a Division 7 title-game record in passing yards; and

Whereas, wide receiver Dominic Rinaldi set two Division 7 championship

records with 10 receptions for 177 yards and two touchdowns; and

Whereas, running back Christopher Kenesie contributed 117 rushing yards

and a touchdown on 19 carries, adding balance to the Lancers’ offensive effort; and

Whereas, on defense, seniors Sincere Williams and Jack Schmitz each had two

tackles, including a sack, anchoring a unit that held Cochrane-Fountain City in
9
check after an early score; and

Whereas, the Lancers’ championship marks a milestone achievement for St.
11
Joseph Catholic Academy and its student-athletes, coaches, families, and
12
supporters and reflects the dedication, skill, discipline, and teamwork that define
13
high school athletics in Kenosha; now, therefore, be it

the members of

the Wisconsin Legislature hereby congratulate the St. Joseph Catholic Academy

Lancers on winning the 2025 WIAA Division 7 State Football Championship and

commend the players, coaches, school community, and supporters for their

outstanding, undefeated season and historic achievement.
