Relating to:
urging the immediate and unconditional release of documents, files,

and records related to Jeffrey Epstein.

Whereas, the United States is founded on the principles of justice, equality,
4
and the rule of law, and no person, regardless of wealth, power, or political
5
influence, is above accountability; and

Whereas, Jeffrey Epstein was a convicted sex offender with a documented
7
history of human trafficking and abuse of minors, whose criminal enterprise
8
operated over decades and may have involved numerous high-profile individuals
9
from various sectors, including politics, business, entertainment, and international
10
diplomacy; and

Whereas, the American people deserve full transparency about how such a
12
network was able to operate in plain sight, avoid accountability, and compromise
13
institutional integrity across government, finance, and media; and

Whereas, Mr. Epstein’s death in 2019 occurred while in federal custody; and

Whereas, many records related to Mr. Epstein’s activities remain sealed,
2
redacted, or otherwise withheld from public view, thereby fueling mistrust in
3
government institutions and the justice system; and

Whereas, the victims of Mr. Epstein's crimes, and the public at large, have a
5
right to know the full truth and to see that those who enabled or participated in
6
these abuses are held to account under the law; and

Whereas, the integrity of our democracy is strengthened by full disclosure and
8
by shining light on the failures, omissions, or possible complicity of those in
9
positions of power; now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the
senate
, the
assembly
concurring, That
the Wisconsin
11
State Legislature urges the immediate and unconditional release of all documents,
12
investigative files, and sealed court records related to Jeffrey Epstein and any
13
associated individuals, unless specific, narrowly tailored redactions are required to
14
protect ongoing prosecutions or the identities of victims; and, be it further

Resolved, That
the legislature calls for any individuals names in these
16
documents who are credibly implicated in crimes to be thoroughly investigated and,
17
if warranted, prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, regardless of status or
18
affiliation; and, be it further

Resolved, That
the chief clerk of the senate transmit copies of this resolution
20
to the President of the United States, the Attorney General of the United States,
21
the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and to each Senator and
22
Representative from Wisconsin in the U.S. Congress.
