WORKING DRAFT 2005 STATE OF WYOMING 05LSO-0399 HOUSE BILL NO. HB0064 Specialty license plates-2. Sponsored by: Representative(s) Walsh, Esquibel and Slater A BILL for AN ACT relating to license plates; authorizing the display of special license plates; specifying license plate production and sales; imposing special application fees; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming: Section 1. W.S. 31 ‑ 2 ‑ 205 by creating a new subsection (c) is amended to read: 31 ‑ 2 ‑ 205. Display of license plates. (c) Notwithstanding subsection (a) of this section, a special license plate in support of a public or private organization may be displayed on the front of the vehicle in place of the regular issued license plate. The yearly dated renewal sticker shall be affixed to this special license plate displayed on the vehicle front plate position in place of the usual numbered plate. The department shall prescribe the design of the special license plate, in consultation with the organization that applied for the special license plate, and arrange for the production of the special license plate which shall be available for purchase upon application by a public or private organization and payment of the production costs for the number of the special license plate that has been requested by the organization. Upon application from the owner of a vehicle currently registered in Wyoming, along with proof of current vehicle registration in Wyoming and payment of the fee not to exceed the cost of the special license plate plus twenty-five dollars ($25.00) assessed by the public or private organization, the organization may issue a special license plate to the applicant for display on the front of the vehicle in place of the regular issued license plate. Section 2. This act is effective immediately upon co m pletion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming Constit u tion. (END) 1 HB0064
