AN ACT relating to the volunteer firemen's pension fund; providing an exclusion from coverage; specifying application; and providing for an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

Section 1.

601(h)(iii), (iv) and by creating a new paragraph (v) is amended to read:

Definitions.

(h)

A "volunteer fire department" means any duly constituted and organized fire fighting unit:

(iii)

All or a portion of the members of which are volunteers;
and

(iv)

Holding monthly meetings to conduct business and training
;

and

(v)

The entire membership of which is not comprised exclusively of employees of a sponsoring nongovernmental entity.

Section 2.

Any fire fighting unit qualifying as a volunteer fire department for purposes of W.S. 35

615 prior to the effective date of this act, shall continue to qualify as a volunteer fire department under W.S. 35

601(h) if the unit otherwise complies with all criteria specified under W.S. 35

601(h)(v) as enacted under section 1 of this act.

Section 3.

This act is effective immediately upon co

pletion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming Constit
