WORKING DRAFT 2005 STATE OF WYOMING 05LSO-0442 HOUSE BILL NO. HB0099 Marriage ceremonies. Sponsored by: Representative(s) Thompson and Martin A BILL for AN ACT relating to domestic relations; authorizing additional persons to perform marriage ceremonies; specifying requirements; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming: Section 1. W.S. 20 ‑ 1 ‑ 106 by creating a new subsection (c) is amended to read: 20 ‑ 1 ‑ 106. Who may solemnize marriage; form of ceremony. (c) In addition to those persons authorized to perform a marriage ceremony under subsection (a) of this section, any other person of the age of majority may perform the ceremony of marriage in this state if the individuals to be married sign a written authorization acknowledging that they intend to be married by the person performing the ceremony. The authorization shall specify the name of the person performing the ceremony, be signed by the two (2) witnesses to the marriage and be attached to the certificate of marriage issued under W.S. 20 ‑ 1 ‑ 107. Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2005. (END) 1 HB0099
