A BILL

for

AN ACT relating to vehicle registration fees; providing for submittal of fuel economy information at time of registration; providing for reduction of registration fees for fuel efficient vehicles; and providing for an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

Required applications; contents; weight certificate; exemptions; fees; certificate of title as precondition.

(b)

Applications for registration of vehicles shall be filed in the office of the county treasurer of the county in which the owner of the vehicle resides or in any county in any other case and contain:

(vi)

Information regarding the fuel economy of the vehicle make and model as published in the Fuel Economy Guide by the United States department of energy for the year the vehicle was manufactured.

Registration fees; exemptions.

(b)

The fees prescribed by subsection (a) of this section are modified for owners of the following vehicles:

(xv)

A person who owns a vehicle with a fuel economy of fifty (50) miles per gallon or more as published in the Fuel Economy Guide by the United States department of energy for the year the vehicle was manufactured shall pay twenty-five percent (25%) of the fee prescribed in subsection (a) of this section.

Section 2.
This act is effective July 1, 2005.
