Subject: Increases the amount of the emergency fire suppression account. Summary/Major Elements: Old law provided that if the balance of the emergency fire suppression account exceeded $3,000,000, then there was no assessment charged to participating counties for that fiscal year until the balance in the account was reduced to $2,400,000. New law changes the above amounts to $5,000,000 and $4,000,000 respectively.
WORKING DRAFT ORIGINAL HOUSE BILL NO. 0172 ENROLLED ACT NO. 43, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES FIFTY-EIGHTH LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WYOMING 2005 GENERAL SESSION AN ACT relating to public lands; increasing the amount of the emergency fire suppression account as specified; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming: Section 1. W.S. 36 ‑ 1 ‑ 404(d) is amended to read: 36 ‑ 1 ‑ 404. Participation by counties; assessments; withdrawal from participation; forfeiture of assessments for failure to pay assessments. (d) In the event the balance in the account exceeds three million dollars ($3,000,000.00) five million dollars ($5,000,000.00) on July 1 in any year, no assessment shall be charged to participating counties for that fiscal year or for any subsequent year until the balance in the account is reduced to an amount less than two million four hundred thousand dollars ($2,400,000.00) four million dollars ($4,000,000.00) in which event assessments shall again be charged to participating counties beginning in the following fiscal year. Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2005.
