AN ACT relating to Indian gaming; providing the governor authority to negotiate gaming compacts; providing for ratification by the legislature; and providing for an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

Indian gaming compacts; authority to negotiate; ratification.

The governor may enter into negotiations for the purpose of entering into a tribal-state compact governing the conduct of gaming activities as provided in the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, 25 U.S.C. § 2701, et seq. After finalizing any compact negotiated by the governor pursuant to this section, the governor shall submit the compact to the select committee on tribal relations which shall prepare legislation for ratification of the compact. The compact shall not be effective until enacted into law.
