Subject: Defines "weekend for purposes of child support abatement. Summary/Major Elements: Under current law, a noncustodial parent paying child support may request an abatement of the daily child support for any periods where the parent has custody of the child for 15 or more consecutive days. Any overnight or weekend period the child is with the custodial parent is disregarded for purposes of computing the 15 consecutive day requirement for abatement purposes. This bill defines "weekend" for purposes of abatement to mean any 2 consecutive day period, except if a legal holiday precedes or follows the days constituting the weekend, the weekend shall consist of 3 days.
WORKING DRAFT ORIGINAL HOUSE BILL NO. 0251 ENROLLED ACT NO. 122, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES FIFTY-EIGHTH LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WYOMING 2005 GENERAL SESSION AN ACT relating to child support; defining "weekend" for purposes of child support abatement; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming: Section 1. W.S. 20 ‑ 2 ‑ 305 by creating a new subsection (h) is amended to read: 20 ‑ 2 ‑ 305. Abatements. (h) For purposes of this section, "weekend" means any two (2) consecutive days, except if a legal holiday precedes or follows the days constituting a weekend under this section the weekend shall consist of three (3) days. Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2005.
