AN ACT relating to marriage; providing for recognition of common law marriages; and providing for an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

114. Validity of common law marriage.

A common law marriage between one (1) man and one (1) woman, created by consenting parties through a mutual assumption of marital rights, duties and obligations shall be recognized as a valid marriage under this chapter.

(d)

Nothing in this section shall be deemed to repeal or render invalid any otherwise valid common law marriage between one (1) man and one (1) woman.
