General powers of governing bodies.

(a)

The governing bodies of all cities and towns may:

(l)

Adopt ordinances regulating the types, kinds, construction, installation and uses of outdoor electrically powered illuminating devices, lighting practices and systems in order to reduce light pollution and
light trespass
.

General powers.

(a)

Each organized county in the state is a body corporate and politic. The powers of the county shall be exercised by a board of county commissioners which may:

(viii)

Adopt resolutions regulating the types, kinds, construction, installation and uses of outdoor electrically powered illuminating devices, lighting practices and systems in order to reduce light pollution and
light trespass
.

Section 2.
This act is effective July 1, 2005.
