A BILL

for

AN ACT relating to the workers' safety division within the department of employment; authorizing positions to improve compliance with occupational safety and health administration requirements as specified; providing an appropriation; and providing for an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

Section 1.

(a)

There is appropriated one hundred sixty-four thousand eight hundred fifteen dollars ($164,815.00) from the general fund to the department of employment for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2005. This appropriation shall be for salaries and benefits for additional staff as authorized in subsection (b) of this section, to upgrade a staff position to have oversight of district inspection work and for office space, equipment, a vehicle, travel, supplies and miscellaneous support costs for the additional staff.

(b)

The department of employment is authorized:

(i)

Two (2) additional full-time equivalent positions to perform inspections under the Occupational Safety and Health Act. One (1) of the new inspector specialist positions shall be located in Rock Springs, Wyoming and one (1) shall be located in Gillette, Wyoming;

(ii)

One (1) additional part-time equivalent position to provide administrative support.

Section 2.
This act is effective July 1, 2005.
