FIFTY-EIGHTH LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WYOMING
2005 GENERAL SESSION

AN ACT relating to the office of the attorney general; creating a special prosecution account as specified; granting rulemaking authority; providing an appropriation; and providing for an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

Section 1.

(a)

There is appropriated to the attorney general from the general fund three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000.00) to fund a special prosecution account.

(b)

The special prosecution account shall be used to assist individual counties in the prosecution of criminal defendants in cases where the extraordinary actual costs of prosecution is unusually expensive, as defined by rules and regulations of the attorney general.

(c)

Funds in the special prosecution account shall be disbursed at the discretion of the attorney general only after written request of a prosecuting attorney, who shall submit supporting budget information for the prosecutor's actual prosecution expenses along with projected costs of prosecution for the case involved.

(d)

Funds in the special prosecution account shall not be used for expenses of the office of the attorney general.
