Sponsored by: Representative(s) Petersen, Buchanan and Gingery and Senator(s) Hanes A BILL for AN ACT relating to guardians ad litem; providing for immunity of guardians ad litem as specified; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming : Section 1. W.S. 3 ‑ 1 ‑ 108 by creating a new subsection (d) is amended to read: 3 ‑ 1 ‑ 108. Guardians ad litem not affected. (d) Notwithstanding W.S. 3 ‑ 1 ‑ 111, a guardian ad litem appointed to represent a child or incompetent person is immune from civil or criminal liability while acting within the scope of his assigned responsibilities or duties as a guardian ad litem, unless the guardian ad litem knowingly or negligently reports information that is false or lacks a factual foundation. Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2006. (END) 1 HB0085
