Subject: Extends the task force on state lands trust responsibilities. Summary/Major Elements: Extends the task force on state lands trust responsibilities by requiring recommendations due to the Joint Agriculture, Public Lands and Water Resources Interim Committee no later than September 1, 2006. Adds two topics to be included in the task force's final recommendations those are: o The administrative duties of the office of state lands in regards to state land trust responsibilities; and o The funding of trust land management. Provides an appropriation of $20,000 to consider the two additional topics. Comments: Report Required: Requires a report by September 1, 2006 to the Joint Agriculture, Public Lands and Water Resources interim committee.
WORKING DRAFT ORIGINAL HOUSE BILL NO. 0155 ENROLLED ACT NO. 38, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES FIFTY-EIGHTH LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WYOMING 2006 BUDGET SESSION AN ACT relating to public lands; requiring a report; providing an appropriation; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming: Section 1. 2005 Wyoming Session Laws, Chapter 235, Section 1(d) is amended to read: Section 1. (d) The task force shall: (v) No later than September 1, 2006, r ecommend to the joint agriculture, public lands and water resources interim committee and the joint appropriations interim committee any statutory changes that may be required to implement the task force's final recommendations . regarding: (A) The administrative structure of the office of state lands and investments relating to trust asset management; and (B) The manner, source or amount of budgeted funding for the office of state lands and investments relating to trust asset management. Section 2. Twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00) is appropriated from the general fund to the office of state lands and investments to fund interim meetings and activities of the task force and to contract with appropriate professionals as necessary to complete the duties assigned to the task force in section 1 of this act. This appropriation shall be in addition to the funds appropriated pursuant to 2005 Wyoming session laws, chapter 235, section 2. Notwithstanding W.S. 9 ‑ 4 ‑ 207(a), neither the funds appropriated under that section nor this act shall lapse June 30, 2006. Section 3. This act is effective immediately upon co m pletion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming Constit u tion.
