Summary/Major Elements:

A person is guilty of a
misdemeanor by protesting, picketing or otherwise causing a breach of the peace
within 300 feet of a cemetery, church, building or other facility at which a
funeral or memorial service is being conducted within 1 hour before, during or
1 hour after the funeral or memorial service.

The penalty for a violation
of this section is imprisonment for not more than 6 months, a fine of not more
than $750, or both.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

Unlawful protesting at a funeral; penalties.

A person commits a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than six (6) months, a fine of not more than seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00), or both, if he protests, pickets, or otherwise causes a breach of the peace within three hundred (300) feet of a cemetery, church, building or other facility at which a funeral or memorial service is being conducted, and if the protest, picket or other action occurs within one (1) hour prior to, during or within one (1) hour after the funeral or memorial service.

Section 2.

This act is effective July 1, 2007.
