WORKING DRAFT 2007 STATE OF WYOMING 07LSO-0140 HOUSE BILL NO. HB0130 Purple heart license plates. Sponsored by: Representative(s) Mercer and McOmie and Senator(s) Barrasso A BILL for AN ACT relating to motor vehicles; providing for purple heart special license plates as specified; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming : Section 1. W.S. 31 ‑ 3 ‑ 101(b)(xv) is amended to read: 31 ‑ 3 ‑ 101. Registration fees; exemptions. (b) The fees prescribed by subsection (a) of this section are modified for owners of the following vehicles: (xv) A disabled veteran who receives fifty percent (50%) or more service connected disability compensation from the United States department of veteran's affairs , or a purple heart recipient eligible for a special license plate under W.S. 31 ‑ 2 ‑ 217(e)(iii), is exempt from the fees imposed under subsection (a) of this section for one (1) vehicle, other than a bus or motor home, owned by the claimant. Application for the exemption under this paragraph shall be in accordance with W.S. 31 ‑ 2 ‑ 215 or 31 ‑ 2 ‑ 217 . County treasurers shall file notice with the department of revenue of the number of exemptions granted and the fiscal impact on revenues. Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2007. (END) 1 HB0130
