Sponsored by: Joint Revenue Interim Committee A BILL for AN ACT relating to taxation and revenue; amending vehicle registration fees; increasing the fuel tax; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming : Section 1. W.S. 31 ‑ 3 ‑ 101(a)(i), 39 ‑ 17 ‑ 104(a)(intro) and (i) and 39 ‑ 17 ‑ 204(a)(intro) and (i) are amended to read: 31 ‑ 3 ‑ 101. Registration fees; exemptions. (a) Except as otherwise provided, the following fees shall accompany each application for the registration of a vehicle: (i) A county registration fee computed as follows, or five dollars ($5.00) three dollars and twenty-five cents ($3.25) , whichever is greater: (A) 3% 2% of 60% of the factory price for a vehicle in its first year of service; (B) 3% 2% of 50% of the factory price for a vehicle in its second year of service; (C) 3% 2% of 40% of the factory price for a vehicle in its third year of service; (D) 3% 2% of 30% of the factory price for a vehicle in its fourth year of service; (E) 3% 2% of 20% of the factory price for a vehicle in its fifth year of service; (F) 3% 2% of 15% of the factory price for a vehicle in its sixth year of service and thereafter. 39 ‑ 17 ‑ 104. Taxation rate. (a) Except as otherwise provided by this section and W.S. 39 ‑ 17 ‑ 105, the total tax on gasoline shall be fourteen cents ($.14) nineteen cents ($.19) per gallon. The rate shall be imposed as follows: (i) There is levied and shall be collected a license tax of thirteen cents ($.13) eighteen cents ($.18) per gallon on all gasoline used, sold or distributed for sale or use in this state except for those fuels exempted under W.S. 39 ‑ 17 ‑ 105; 39 ‑ 17 ‑ 204. Taxation rate. (a) Except as otherwise provided by this section and W.S. 39 ‑ 17 ‑ 205, the total tax on diesel fuels shall be fourteen cents ($.14) nineteen cents ($.19) per gallon. The rate shall be imposed as follows: (i) There is levied and shall be collected a license tax of thirteen cents ($.13) eighteen cents ($.18) per gallon on all diesel fuels used, sold or distributed for sale or use in this state; Section 2.
