WORKING DRAFT 2007 STATE OF WYOMING 07LSO-0403.E1 HOUSE BILL NO. HB0242 Drug courts. Sponsored by: Representative(s) Cohee and Senator(s) Schiffer A BILL for AN ACT relating to drug courts; providing eligibility for a drug court to receive funding for residential substance abuse treatment costs as specified; providing an appropriation; and providing for an effective date. Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming : Section 1. W.S. 5 ‑ 10 ‑ 102 by creating a new subsection (e) is amended to read: 5 ‑ 10 ‑ 102. Establishment of drug court system; drug court account. (e) Any drug court which meets all of the qualifications of W.S. 5 ‑ 10 ‑ 106 and rules and regulations properly promulgated is eligible for funding from the drug court account to be expended for residential substance abuse treatment costs. Funds awarded by the drug court panel for residential substance abuse treatment costs may be in addition to any funds awarded under and may exceed the limitations in subsection ( b ) of this section. Section 2. There is appropriated one million two hundred thousand dollars ($1,200,000.00) from the general fund to the drug court account for the period beginning with the effective date of this act and ending June 30, 2008 for purposes of this act. Section 3. This act is effective immediately upon co m pletion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming Constit u tion. (END) 1 HB0242
